Jack`s Steak House in Uvalde

Great service. I go here frequently and have never been disappointed. Lots of choices for adults and children alike. I love their steak and their pepper cheese steak. They are my favorite. My niece loves the lava cake.

We had six people for birthday waited 1 hr and 37 minutes for food finally had to ask about our order. That went to Kitchen and came right out. Everybody's food was cold. Had to ask 4 times for drink refills. Worst experience I've had. Would not recommend to anyone.

Stakes were cooked to order, burgers were very tasty, beer was cold, and the blackened catfish was perfect. Service was excellent as well. We ate there three nights during our stay in Uvalde and enjoyed every night. Would recommend eating there before trying anything else.

First time here and was not disappointed. Vincent was our waiter and he was awesome. We never get good service anywhere and he did amazing. Food was cooked just right and was quick to the table. He even got us an item that was not listed on the menu. Everyone was super friendly.

Decor was fantastic, pecan pie was great, had to send shrimp back to get heated, steak was so so, price, very high

Music was an odd choice for the establishment. The guacamole was entirely off brown and tasted funky. My steak was incredibly undercooked all throughout, however the outside was basically charred. Jack clearly doesn't know how to cook a steak. My fanta was lukewarm and flat. My dead grandma prepared food better than what I got here. The only redeeming quality was our waiter.

Always love to eat here. Wonderful food and friendly/helpful staff.

Had a ribeye medium rare. It was good. Service was a little slow but they were swamped. Will definitely be back

Our steak was cooked as ordered and on time. Service was excellent. We enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere of the restaurant. As I was finishing my meal, I noted a couple, the wife was in a wheelchair and needed assistance to use the restroom. Their waitress went with her and assisted her while the manager took care of her tables. That was truly above the excellence I normally expect at Jack's.

It's okay, its clean and the people have good manners but food wise it could be better.

The bread was delicious. Portion size was good. My husband loved the fried mushrooms. We both ate catfish. Mine was lemon peppered and his was blackened....both were delicious! I would definitely go again.

Had the fried shrimp plate. Was surprised at the amount and size of the shrimp. My birthday dinner was delicious 😋 and the shrimp was fried perfect!! Although the cocktail sauce needs work.

Great bread and food but wasn't able to eat because there was so many gnats flying everywhere. No tp in restroom. Great wine selection but wine list was not in order if you want to know the difference between sweets and dry.

Jack's was lovely, nice quiet atmosphere. You could hear the music but it was low enough that you could still have a conversation. The food was very good. Presented cleanly and simply without any pomp.and circumstance. The wait staff was friendy, professional, and prompt. The price was reasonable.

HORRIBLE HOSTESS!!! We have eaten at this restaurant several times before and the food and service was great so I’m hoping this was a fluke. We waited 15 minutes before she sat us. There was no wait and lots of empty tables. Then we sat at our table without a waiter or drinks for another 15 minutes. After that we gave up and left. I hope the management sees this and fixes whatever is wrong soon.

Good food, waiter was super nice. The whole operation was a little slow to service and I'd I ordered my steak medium rare and it was definitely more medium. Not much pink in the center at all. So order a bit more rare than you usually like. Still a juicy flavorful steak. I'd definitely go again.

I would definitely recommend Jack's. I've had multiple meals here and the food is always excellent. The sirloin is perfectly cooked. The pepper cheese steak is awesome!

We always enjoy our meal. Chrissy is the best waitress! Husband gets the ribeye every time. I like Jack’s pepper steak as it has the best flavor!

Loved the food but it does take way too long , sever the food . the waiter is superb. He can only do so much...It took way too long.

Great food with great staff! We got hamburgers and a steak and were not disappointed. Got there at 5PM on a Saturday and it was relatively empty

The worst steak I have ever had. It was dried out like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for 6 hours.

Wife and sister-in-law said this was the best pepper steak they have ever had. Shrimp was good too. I had their smoked sausage burger - big juicy burger!

Great place to eat service was excellent.

Wish I could give this place 5 stars but the first impression as we walked in was very somber. The seating host was not very friendly and the customers gave us cold looks. The food and our waiter were awesome and managed to save the day. Our drinks (wine and wine based margaritas were great as well). So if you can get over the initial "weirdness" you should enjoy a good meal.

Steak was horrible it had more gristle then a 104 year old goat . Music was weird. Guacamole was disgusting. Server was cool though.

This is a good steak house. I had the 14 oz ribeye medium rare which was well prepared. I had the grilled squash which was really good. The bread was good. The service was awesome. I would recommend this restaurant for any staying in this area.

Very good food. Only problem I had was the pepper steak had peppers hotter than I am used to.

Just had dinner here. Walked in with a family of four right in front of us. About 8 others already waiting inside. No host/hostess to seat anyone. Half the tables in the place were empty. Finally got a gentleman out there to seat us and said it would be a 15 min wait. Why? Plenty of seats available...The fam of four left and a couple. Lost money right there. We got seated and waited about 8 min for someone to stop and ask for our drink order. Our waitress was good and pleasant. Our food didn’t take long but wasn’t good and not worth the high prices. I got a ribeye that was overcooked and grilled shrimp. The shrimp smelled like they took a bath in bleach...!?!? Gave back to the waitress. Veggies seemed old and rubbery. Would not recommend this restaurant. Something not right with this place.

The best steaks we've had in a good while. Perfectly cooked and seasoned Ribeyes that were melt in the mouth tender. Wait staff was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Side of grilled squash and made in house Mac & cheese were delicious.

Steak and shrimp were delicious. Ice tea was on point waitress was great. Overall very good experience. Will be back!

Stopped for a quick lunch at 12.25 AM on a Monday. The parking lot had about a dozen cars, and once inside we were seated immediately. I like the wood log exterior which is carried over into the interior. I ordered the chicken avocado plate - 8.99 - our waitress brought us some excellent bread with butter and honey spread. My fresh salad arrived quickly (mix of lettuce with sliced cherry tomatoes and croutons.) The entree was excellent - one chicken breast, half an avocado and some grilled vegetables. The chicken and vegetables were TASTY. It was not bland or sprinkled with a little season all - it was GOOD. My compadre had a 5 ounce sirloin with greenbeans. He stated both were exceptional and flavorful. Often a small thin steak is cooked dry - but this was very good.

Had a family gathering there. Great food, great atmosphere, great service.
